A Motorcycle Trick

Yesterday, Scott Schlatter and I decided to ride to the beach for The Burn Experiment.  On the way there Scott let go of his bike with both hands, and then jokingly said, “Thats the only motorcycle trick I know.”  Well right after that my bike died, and so I had to pull over, while Scott raced away without knowing what happened.  My bike was out of gas, and I was already on the reserve tank.  Stupid move I know, but the real dilemma was what do I do now.  Well I used my iphone to see what the closest gas station was, and it was not close.  At least not within pushing distance.  Then Scott called me, and I said “I know a motorcycle trick too, running out of gas.”

So he came back, and we did the only thing I could think of.  I got on the back of his Honda Interceptor, which doesn’t have much room back there, and held on to Scott as we rode to a gas station.  The funniest part about this is that I am 210 pounds, and I think Scott is like 120.  So here I am way bigger than him, sitting on the back of his bike.  People were definitely staring, at least it wouldn’t have looked so weird if Scott was behind me, but I wasn’t familiar enough with his bike to do that.  So I bought a big thing of water, drank some and then dumped the rest.  Filled it up with gas, hopped back on his bike and took it to mine.

It was all a very emasculating event, and I hope I am never that stupid again.
